In 1959, the Korea Tang Soo Do Affiliation (later Korea Taekwondo Association or KTA) was established to facilitate the unification of Korean martial arts. Choi wished all the opposite member kwans with the KTA to undertake his own Chan Hon-type of Taekwondo, for a unified model. This was, having said that, satisfied with resistance as another kwan
